National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) conferred Master of Disaster Management to three Bhutanese Officials. Mr. Nima Dorji, Mr. Tashi Phuntsho and Mr. Pema are the first Bhutanese civil servants to receive Master Degree under JICA Training Program. They have undergone their masters degree in the field of disaster risk reduction, with specialization in flood, global seismology, Earthquake, fire and tsunami. The prestigious one year masters program is approved by GRIPS and Building Research Institute (BRI), making it very demanding course, and is recognized throughout the world. Mr. Phuntsho received the best research award for this cohort. About 17 scholars from different countries has taken part in this prestigious training course. Congratulation for the successful completion of Master’s Program for the year 2020-21, JICA Bhutan is set to send four more scholars to Japan to pursue the same course.
